A while ago I went to a design lecture and one of the panelists talked about creating a book of classic Cuban movie posters. I don't remember any details, which sucks and for that reason I need to keep doing this blog... I have a terrible memory. Anyway, while I don't know if he ever created the book, this exhibit of 125 handmade silkscreened Cuban and international film posters looks amazing. The show is on display in Los Angeles from Friday, May 13 through Sunday, August 28. The website does feature a slide show of 24 posters from the Instituto Cubano de Arte e Industria Cinematográficos (ICAIC) collection.
Here I will be posting observations and inspirations related to design, magazines, fashion, food, Paris, and sunny days.
For my day job I am the deputy art director at Country Living magazine. I've worked at Interior Design, Fortune Small Business, and Domino magazines.
