Alexandra Rowley's father’s health went into steep decline, she began photographing his belongings three weeks before he died and finishing more than two years later. Among the items were her father’s ties "which he wore nearly every day and bear the stains of a man who was both formal and careless." There is a sadness and stillness to the photographs that I find exquisite and charming. I understand Alexandra's sentiment. After someone close to you passes, you want to remain connected to that person anyway that you know how... through article of clothing or a photograph. I have a quilt that my Grandmother made and it is one of my most precious possessions. (Via Hi+Low) Photographs by Alexandra Rowley.
